My favorite hair masks
This is not a sponsored content but only my favorite products that i used or currently use and my observations.
Before i start on my favorite hair products i want to briefly emphasize the importance of not damaging the hair in the fist place with the use of tight hair scrunches ( believe me i went through it and wasn’t even aware of what is causing my hair to continuously breake at a certain level, so yes i learned this lesson the heard way). I highly recommend soft fabric scrunchies not the rubber ones, here is one from Athleta as an example of scrunchies i use daily to remove my hair from my face when i’m working or in the gym or cleaning apartment, you know the routine. Another idea of it is to use silk headband if you need to take care of your hair but not a big fan of scrunches. The fabric size can vary and it is a personal choice but the goal should be to protect hard breakages from a tight grip and overtearing. But let’s move on to my favorite hair products, shall we?
My winner is very inexpensive Korean mask Elizavecca cer-100 collagen coating hair protein treatment and by inexpensive i mean 8$!
Can’t beat the pricing and the name comes from one of it’s main ingridients Ceramide 3. What is it? Ceramides are naturally present in our body and one of 9 lipids that we have in our skin and one of three types of oils found inside the cuticle of the hair. Ceramides help to keep the hair cuticles closed which is what we trying to archive with this mask because it will help retain hair moisture, prevent or help with frizziness and breakages. The best way to increase your ceramides is through topical treatments such as hair masks and for skin - creams, also there are plenty of oral supplements on the market. This mask i highly recommend for damaged hair as a result of exposure to high heat such as curling irons or hair dryers or after excessive sun exposure. I only put it on for a couple of minutes after shampoo and i like the after effect of silky hair after that is easy to brush and blow dry.
P.S. this mask smells wonderful!
My second choice is a very popular brand Olaplex bond #3. I give it a second place because it’s price of 28$ plus taxes. Olaplex uses patented technology of Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate in their products that help to heal damaged hair and protect it from the heat. I see it in many hair salons i visit and it is widely distributed by hair professionals. I didn’t notice much difference between Olaplex and Elizavecca cer-100 on my hair but maybe you guys will and i’m looking forward to your reviews and suggestions! Overall both product have amazing ingredients and smell very nice therefore it is worth trying both to decide which one work best for you hair.
My third favorite mask is Blonde Ale Color-Enhancing Brightening Mask from Drybar brand. I put it as the third choice because I can only recommend it to blonds like me due to the purple pigments in the mask that neutralize yellowish brassy tone. I don’t use it on the daily basis and this is also the reason why i ranked it #3. I often mix it up with other masks and use it 2x a week to keep my tone bright from fading away or to yellow old color. This mask contains rice proteins and lemon with chamomile extracts, that gives it very nice refreshing smell along with other ingredients of ginger, mint and sandalwood. It also contains moisturizers like in conditioners therefore after the process of rejuvenating your hair color with it the outcome will be bright healthy looking hair instead of dry frizzly processed ones.
My favorite hair oils
I’m also going to rate my three favorites by my liking but you are welcome to give me feedback or recommend your favorites! I’m a big fan of word by mouth recommendations and i encourage you to send me your suggestions girls!
My winner and top pic is L'Oreal Professional LORHP-68716 Serie Expert Vitamino Colour 10 in 1. I was first introduced to it by my best of them all hair stylist Marie, the owner of Ardona Beauty Salon (ladies who are from New York and lives in Queens she is the best, this is not a paid content just my personal observations). My hair is very fine and frizzy, therefore my every day problem is having a dandelion head lol where all those new short hair or broken hair just stand out and create a mess on my head. One way to deal with it it to iron my hair but you know it created more damaging hair. Another one is to apply hair oils to keep frizzy hair down and also smooth them and make them elastic and less prone to tagging on a hairbrush and breaking out. The issue with oils is some are heavier than another. And for a long time I was applying heavy ones that were just popular on a market that would yes keep my hair down but also would make my head look greasy. Therefore for a long time i couldn’t find a solution until my hairstylist Marie recommended L'Oreal Professional LORHP-68716 Serie Expert Vitamino Colour 10 in 1. Why do I love this product ? It is great for fine hair that are very light, soft and thin. The spay does not weight my hair down or make it look greasy, it is very light and smells great.
I’m also currently trying out hair mask and a conditioner from this series Vitamino Color and will update you guys on my reviews after 1-2 months of using it. I am a believer that i need to give products some time to show results as vitamins and peptides and all these useful stuff takes time to accumulate in hair follicles to repair it. Let me know if you already used Vitamino Color line and what do you think about it or any other suggestions are most welcomed!
My second favorite hair oil is famous brand Moroccan oil. It is my second choise not because of the ingridients, quite the opposite, the ingridients are the best and if you read my articles on trip to Morocco I passed on locations where locals and local companies grow argan oil and almond oil and saw beautiful tree climbing goats. I love the smell of this product and i love the feel of my moisturized and shine hair after application of Moroccan oil. But i found it for my fine hair to be a little too heavy on the daily use basis. But on the contrary, when i’m returning from high heat and very dry places like Africa my hair are a mess. They are dry, lifeless and sun damaged, no matter how much i try to protect my head from the heat with heats and scarfs and heat repelling sprays. Therefore, I prefer this product after such trips because i apply it heavily like a mask overnight for a week or two to accelerate the rejuvenation and repair of hair follicles and overall hair appearance and it works its magic on me.
My third best choice for hair oil is Shedavi. It is my third choice because it is not just a regular hair oil to fill up follicles with moisturisers and lipids. It is a hair oil for hair growth. The oil packed with so many good for hair growth and look ingredients such as: grape seed oil, olive oil, sunflowers oil, green tea oil, bamboo extract, boobab oil, coconut oil, macadamia oil, ylang Ylang oil, rose oil, peppetmint oil, carrot oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, sweet Almond oil, argani oil and many more. It also can be purchased like an oil or in a set with complementary same brand hair growth vitamins. I want to remind you guys that any vitamins should be taken in moderation and in course cycle, not all year around! The deficit of vitamins is a bad thing for a body but also is a surplus of it. Therefore i love this product and i buy it as a package of oil and vitamins but i only go through the course of it, meaning i don’t eat those vitamins nor i apply this oil all year round. I do it for a couple of months usually during the low vitamin deficiency seasons such as autumn or winter and the rest of the year i chill and rely on my body to produce those necessary vitamins.
That was my share of my favorite hair products, I hope you enjoyed it and i’m looking forward to your feedback and recommendations of your favorite hair brands as well as hair routine! We beauties gotta stick together! Sending much love and joy your way, Ksenia.
